WordPress Upgrade
Hello again!
<right> right> |
Just a quick note to tell you (or at least those of you who are interested) that we just made a painless, automatic upgrade from WordPress version 2.8.6 to version 2.9 yesterday. We first tried it out on a few smaller sites and it functioned flawlessly, so we made our backups, “bit the bullet,” and pushed the button for Green Home MegaStores. It worked! No bullet-biting required. ![]()
You can see on most of our blogs what version WordPress we are running, usually in the footer (at the very bottom of the blog). We think it’s important to support WordPress this way. Other webmasters are afraid that knowing the WP version will make it easier for hackers to get into their script and wreak havoc. I think that’s only the case when they don’t keep their blog software up to date, and we strive to do that consistently. And WordPress is helping us out by making the process a one-button-push job since version 2.7 or so! There’s really no excuse today for not keeping your WP at the latest release.
