A Not-So-New Source of Clean Energy
Hi there everybody,
Last week I was in Kanton Zug (Switzerland) to visit an old friend of mine, Gustav Grob. You probably will not recognise his name, since he is not one of the highly verbal and media-attractive types that seem to populate Wildlife and the other green political movements today. But don’t make the mistake of thinking that means he is not active in the green movement – quite the contrary.
Gustav is Swiss, which gives him an almost automatic head start on most of us as far as being green is concerned, but that’s not all. He is the founder and moving force and presently Executive Secretatry of ISEO (www.uniseo.org), the International Sustainable Energy Organisation for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. This UN-accredited organisation is a strong sponsor for sustainable and renewable energy production, usage, and conservation. It turns out that he is also the president of ICEC Holdings of Cham (Switzerland). ICEC stands for the International Clean Energy Consortium (http://www.icec.ch), and this organisation is active in various projects promoting clean, sustainable energy production and conservation around the world, but particularly in Europe. There are such things as micro-hydro-electricity production projects with governmental support, production and erection of medium- to large-sized wind turbine farms, home-use-sized wind power systems, combined solar energy systems, hydrogen vehicle systems, and others.
I wish we had had more time to discuss his latest project and also that I were able to divulge some of it’s details to you, but that’s not (yet) possible. The only thing I can tell you at this point is that their latest major project involves a time-proven basis, and development and production technologies that are already commercially proven in the field. And we are talking about giga-Watt (GW) sized electrical power production plants here, with no fuel costs and no pollution. Goodbye conventional fossil-fueled plants? Yes! Goodbye nuclear electricity production? Yes! And installable almost everywhere. Wow! Stay tuned! Oh, if you’re interested, you can see the basic information at this link – no cost, no obligation. ;-) I would love to term this “pratical greenology,” but this is just a tad larger than household sized! :-D Maybe we should come up with a new term for giga-sized projects? How about “practical mega-greenology”?
In the mean time, I’m doing some more investigation into the home-sized wind turbines available from some of Gustav’s acquaintances. They have some interesting evolutionary qualities that will make a home-based wind turbine an even more attractive offer. More on this later, also.
Ciao for now,
Craig
