What Is GEOCOGEN?

What Is GEOCOGEN?

Hi there, and happy 4th of July to all you USA types. Actually, happy 4th of July to everybody – it happens to everyone just about this time every year! – BTW, somehow this post got lost in the shuffle, and now I’m even late saying happy 1st of August to everybody! (August 1 is the Swiss national holiday).

There is something new going on in Switzerland, and we think you should know about it. It’s called GEOCOGEN, and the best description for what it is a “base-load, clean, safe, sustainable, GigaWatt-scale, low-priced energy supply.” What does that mean? Well, probably the most important parts are “bye-bye nuclear power” and “so long dirty power!”

How does this “wonder-drug” for the energy market work? Well, VERY simply, it harvests heat from the Earth’s core and converts it to electricity plus heat for district heating or industrial heat or agricultural heating or … well, you get the idea.

So why haven’t you heard about this before? Well, the idea is not new, but the guys at GEOCOGEN AG in Switzerland have figured out how to make the thing actually work. When the concept was first published almost 30 years ago (by Kurt Brunnschweiler, also a Swiss process engineer), he had the right idea, but he didn’t have the technology that could make it work. Today, that technology is there, although these guys are pushing the boundaries some.

What can you do to get things moving? Spread the word. In a few months, GEOCOGEN expects to have their first major contract for a patented GEOCOGEN Power Plant. That’s when the excitement will start! If you want a piece of the action, I don’t know whether that’s possible or not, but you might want to contact GEOCOGEN AG at info@geocogen.net to see what is possible. Tell them Jimmy Craig sent you!

If you just want some more information on GEOCOGEN and what it does and how it does it, take a glance at our sister site, Practical Greenology where they’re running a series about GEOCOGEN, or go to the horse’s mouth: GEOCOGEN.net for all the news that’s been published up to now.

Thanks for looking in!
